Description:
Black & white print of a photograph showing LST-16 sailing in an unidentified location. The ship has been fitted with a 220-ft runway structure on its main deck for launching spotter aircraft. A Piper L-4 Grasshopper can be seen preparing to take off from the runway structure and men, likely the ship's crew, are lining the outer railing to watch. Stamped with ship title in gold lettering near bottom and black printed text reading "Our Navy Photos, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11217" in the bottom right corner.
