Description:
Black & white print of a photograph showing LST-397 on an unidentified beach in the South Pacific. The ship does not appear to have any vehicles on the main deck, though a great deal of cargo can be seen in the foreground on shore. A number of other landing craft and ships can be seen in the photograph as well including an LCM (Landing Craft. Mechanized) and two LCVPs on the beach beside LST-397, and LCM on a different piece of shoreline behind them, and two LCIs (Landing Craft, Infantry), an LST, and other unidentified craft further out in the bay. The ship's name/number is stamped in gold text at the bottom and "Our Navy Photos, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11217" is printed in the bottom right corner.
