Description:
Black & white print of a photograph showing LST-583 (U.S.S. Churchill County) landed at an unknown location with the bow doors open and ramp lowered. The ship appears to have 4 smaller vehicles on the main deck, with the rest perhaps already unloaded. The port davit is raised and loaded with an LCVP while the starboard davit is lowered and the LCVP is in the water. Several men can be stanig in approximately waste-deep water in front of the ship and two LCVPs (one from LST-583, another unidentified) are in the background. The ship's name is stamped in gold lettering at the bottom and "Our Navy Photos, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11217" is printed in the bottom right corner.
