A photograph showing LST-824 landed on shore with bow doors open and ramps lowered, in 1968 or 1969. The photograph was possibly taken during a practice run with several other LSTs, including LST-1168 [U.S.S. Wexford County], LST-848 [U.S.S. Jerome County], LST-1084 [U.S.S. Polk County], and LST-1146 [U.S.S. Summit County]. The date for the landing is not known.
