LST Photograph Collection : Photographs of all U.S. LSTs (Landing Ship, Tank) excluding LST-325
Title:
U.S.S. LST-512 (U.S.S. Burnett County)
Object ID:
2017.009.049
Object Name:
Print, Photographic
Description:
Black & white print of a photograph showing LST-512 (U.S.S. Burnett County) sailing along an unknown coastline, likely on an inland U.S. river. The ship appears to be carrying no cargo on the main deck, and both davits appear to be empty. A raised stage and extra space for the superstructure are visible in place of the cargo hatch, a modification that was made for LST-512 in preparation for a war bond tour in the United States. The ship's number is stamped in gold lettering at the bottom.
