A photo of LST-1 being launched on Sept. 7, 1942 after completion at the Dravo Corp Shipyard located on Neville Island, Pittsburgh, PA. The ship does not have any of the fixtures installed on the main deck or superstructure, such as the elevator, davits, or AA guns. It does not appear to even have the anchors, ladders, or ventilation shafts in place.
