Photocopy of a photograph showing the launching of LST-1059 at the Dravo Shipyard on Neville Island, Pittsburgh, PA on the 14th of April, 1945. The ship appears to be missing some key components, including its stern anchor and anti-aircraft guns, as it had not yet visited a shipfitting yard for final preparations. LST-1059 served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II and operated as part of the Occupation Force following the war's end.
