Black & white print of a photograph showing ex-LST-1092 (U.S.S. Aventinus [ARV(E)-3]) moored on a beach or landing site, likely Yokosuka, Japan with its bow doors open and ramp lowered.. Though originally authorized as an LST, the ship was redeisgnated an Aircraft Repair Ship (Engine) prior to construction and ultimately commissioned as ARV(E)-3 U.S.S. Aventinus. The main deck features numerous additions and changes including extended superstructure, the addition of fixed cranes, and other features. The ship's name is stamped in gold lettering near the bottom and a copyright mark for Our Navy, Inc. is printed in the bottom right corner. "EX LST 1092 --- ARVE-3" is written on the back in pencil.
