Description:
ARL-19 (U.S.S. Patroclus), previously LST-955. Originally launched at the Bethlehem-Hingham Shipyard in Hingham, MA as LST-955 in October of 1944. Moved to the Bethlehem Key Highway Shipyard in Baltimore, MD for conversion into an ARL (Landing Craft Repair Ship) in November of the same year. Commissioned as ARL-19 U.S.S. Patroclus in April of 1945 for service in Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Transfered to Turkey for service in 1952 and redesignated T.C.G. Basaran (A-582).
