A PORTELEC Model 23 78 r.p.m. navy portable phonograph. Model sps-1, Serial #15377. Manufactured by the Pacific Sound Equipment CO, Hollywood, California. This phonograph was made for the Navy Department Bureau of Naval Personnel, Washington D.C. This object is painted naval grey, with two clasps and carrying handle. It also has a detachable speaker and spare tubes.
