A Toastswell Model ATT2 two slice commercial toaster used aboard Navy ships and sold for the public from the late 30's until the 1950's. The toaster is still functional. It operates as a standard pop-up toaster with a Light to Dark knob that controls a mechanical timer for the toast setting and a push down handle to start the cycle. Has a dull zinc-nickel and chrome finish. The original power cord was replaced with a modern three-pronged cord. In accordance with Navy specifications for food equipment that states exposed edges had to be rounded with a minimum radius of .75 inches, the toaster has rounded corners and top. Measures at 8.5"x8.5"x9.5"
