A photocopy of a related story of Robert T. May's time in the U.S. Navy aboard LST-348 during World War II. LST-348 acted as a repair vessel for smaller landing craft at Salerno and Anzio Bay in Italy and Palermo, Sicily. The ship was sunk shortly after leaving Anzio, Italy en-route to England to prepare for the Normandy invasion when it was struck by at least two torpedoes.
