Description:
Black & white print of a photograph showing LST-972 being guided by tugboats shortly after launching at the Bethlehem-Hingham Shipyard in Hingham, MA in late 1944. The main deck does not appear to be loaded and the ship has not been fitted with all of its exterior equipment. The ship's number is stamped in gold lettering near the bottom and "Our Navy Photos, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11217" is printed in the bottom right corner.
