Title:
LST-32 U.S.S. Alameda County
Object ID:
2016.288.1
Object Name:
Print, Photographic
Description:
A color photographic print of LST-32 (U.S.S. Alameda County) in port in an unspecified location, likely either Naples, Italy or Suda Bay, Crete during the 1950s. The photograph is a shot of the port side of the ship with an LCM tied up alongside and one on the main deck of the ship. While exact information on when, where, and by whom the photograph was taken is not available, context indicates it was most likely sometime between 1953 when the ship began service in Europe and 1957 when it was redesignated AVB-1.
