Two typed letters from The Missouri Valley Bridge & Iron Co. to Mrs. Barbara Duskey in regards to her acting as Sponsor in the christening of LST-242 on July 3, 1943 in Evansville, IN.
The first letter, typed on July 26, 1943, thanks Mrs. Duskey for acting as sponsor for the christening of LST-242 on July 3, 1943 at the Evansville Shipyard. It is signed by Frank Harrison, the General Manager of the Shipyard.
The second letter accompanied the leather-bound scrapbook and listed the original contents of said portfolio, 13 photographic prints from the previously mentioned christening, and requests the return of signed receipts for each. This letter is signed by E. J. Pihale, the Director of Reproduction and is dated September 8, 1943.
