A digital copy of a color video originally taken on 8mm film, showing LST-753 traveling down the Ohio River past Martins Ferry, OH shortly after its launching on 10 June, 1944. The ship is headed toward New Orleans, LA, on the Mississippi River, for final outfitting and crew assignment before traveling through the Panama Canal to join Allied forces in the Pacific Theater. While the Landing Ship, Tank's number is not clear enough to read in the video, it can be identified by the pattern of its camoflage paint near the bow, which indicates the ship is meant for Pacific service and matches that seen in photographs of LST-753. Further, the second video (2017.014.02) donated confirms the ship's identity.
